And I can sure tell you that writer's block really sucks.

I just added my last song into the track & figured that it's pretty much complete (21 tracks, compared to the 22 from the previous OST & 27 from the first one). So, I've completed my goal of 3 full OSTs, limiting myself to the 2A03 & only the expansion chips available in FamiTracker 0.3.0.

This isn't to say that this is the last thing you'll hear from me, though.

Thanks to ElHuesudoII for allowing me to use his two unfinished songs for tracks 3 & 4, as well as Jimbleezy for his help with track 18. I unfortunately decided to exclude both names from the authors' list in the module since the full credits get clipped off to a certain amount of characters (they'll be credited in a readme file bundled with my typical download package that I provide on my site).

This is now available on http://techemporium.soupwhale.com/warlord/, where you can also listen to the final product from the site itself (using FlashNSF).

Mod note: files have moved to http://techemporium.bagelbox.org/warlord/

Well done! I love... ehh... most of these songs. Not all. But most. To name a few, King's court, Forest, Church, Desert, Mirage Citadel, Ruined Temple of Darkness, Dungeon Complete (even though it sounds incredibly offbeat sometimes), and Final Victory.

Yes, it does indeed.

this is magnificent. Holy shit dude.

No instrument presets. A flat 00 instrument, and everything is just done in here.

it's even clean to look at! I love it.

Well, the King's Court tune is track 3, which was actually made by ElHuesudoII (same with track 4, except I expanded that song & converted it to use MMC5 squares for drone notes). I'm glad you liked so many of the songs, though; my personal favourites are the Dungeon, Necropolis, Frozen Catacombs (though the DPCM could use a bit of work,) Mirage Citadel, Ruined Temple Of Darkness, Dungeon Complete, Final Victory & all the boss songs.

The Dungeon Complete track is actually Romance De Amor (which was also used as an intro in the arcade game Phoenix). The Final Victory track is actually a cover of the song The Wishing Star, from the 1962 movie Taras Bulba. As for the other songs, feel free to change them in any way you wish (or recommend any improvements to whatever tracks you didn't like).

Thanks. That was one of the many points where I got stuck with writer's block, so I posted a collab thread & got some great help from Jimbleezy. I wish you were actually there to help (minus the swing joke you usually pull off on my tracks). Glad you liked it; feel free to use it in any way you want.

That's the first time I ever got a "Holy shit" in praise of anything, man. I usually hear that when I do something wrong. :P

Thanks a lot. I used to use a small number of basic instruments, but then decided to switch to using only one blank instrument for all my songs because I used FamiTracker 0.3.0 for it (the later versions of FamiTracker broke instrument compatibility due to the extra expansion chips added &, at the time of 0.3.5, had a few bugs that I wasn't willing to put up with, though the latest version has most of those bugs removed). After a while, using a single blank instrument became part of my style & now, I woldn't ever want to go back to using preset instruments unless I desperately have to.

You'll like the story behind track 22 (the closing credits theme); it started as an entry to a 16-instrument contest (I called it Requiem For A Journey). Since I like to challenge myself, I then decided to recycle the song & reduce it down to a single instrument, without the faulty triangle wave DPCM samples from the original (plus a minor change near the middle of the song). It succeeded as far as I'm concerned, though I always have the mentality that EVERYTHING can be improved somehow.

This is great, though the two or so songs set in really high octaves for really long times are a little grating on the ears...

everything else is great, instrumentation can always be done better, with any song/ost, but it's great.

Wow tech. I remember working on Final Boss with you a few months ago. It's awesome to hear the finished version and the rest of the soundtrack. Great job man =]

Fantastic job as always, sir, though I would be lying if I didn't say that I was slightly disappointed to see a lack of your take on Mercy for a Fallen Knight. Still, though, I frickin love this shit. :D

I enjoyed the whole module, though I agree that the high pitches on some songs can get a little grating. King's Court is super legit; great composition and definitely my favourite of the bunch.

Thanks, guys. PSN: you actually owe your credit to ElHuesudoII for the King's Court song (I just remade it to use a single blank instrument, with his permission). But yeah; track 11 is a bit grating to the ears (it's a somewhat odd attempt at my simulating a music box). However, track 12's deliberately meant to be grating; I was actually hoping for more complaints about track 12 (because I like to make use of controlled discord & dissonance in my music, the way I tend to do so is to lover the volume & use higher or lover octaves to reduce interferance with the lead channels). :P
its good. And the bass can be better.
Which songs need improvement? I wouldn't mind taking a look at which ones need better bass & how I can improve them; feel free to make any edits or even remake them to your own desire & post back.

I wish I could figure out how to translate your instruments from that song's VRC6 squares into something that can work on an MMC5 track with a blank instrument. In all honesty, if I could do it & stay faithful to the song, I'd actually replace track 2 with it (it's a better Game Over theme than what I currently have, which was a song I remember having to play in my grade 4 history class). That's something I'll try to work on a bit more & resubmit as soon as possible.

Thanks, man. I really needed that push you gave (especially since I was so stuck due to writer's block).

Sorry for the bump, but I've added this to my site. The download packages also include credit for tracks, 3, 4 & 18. See the first post in this topic.

I already made the NSFe files yesterday (see the downloads on my site). There's a package for NSF, the NSFe & FTM files, all in the link at the first post.
