I've been eyeballing this one for a while, as something I wanted to mess with. I finally got around to it and finished it rather quickly out of excitement, and somewhere along the line I thought it would be cool to try and make this song work well in stereo.

The results of that experiment are on Soundcloud [url=https://soundcloud.com/jmankman/maze-stereo-mega] here , and whether it was a successful attempt or not is to be determined, though I think it worked out well.

I used the mm9fami module by Mathew Valente as a reference when making this.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hmm... I personally think that the 2A03 pulses are too loud.

If I were you, I would add a volume macro for your "Blank" instrument (11 sounds pretty good).

But other than that, it sounds pretty good

Awwww that's so raaaw! The DPCM really improves the tune...makes it feel more like a very low-fi techno song instead of a chiptune. :D

One way you could improve this would be to raise the volume of those synthy arpeggios...You know, the ones that steadily rise in volume from 1 to 5 then back down. I think they suit the song quite well and could be brought out.

Thanks for the comments.

I've lowered the volume on some instruments to 12 though I haven't touched the arps as I feel they are fine in the background as they are.

Really good!
Some time ago I tried to do a cover of this song, but did not do much, then you go and you show up with a remix.
Hahahaha very good!
Congratulations! :D

Thanks! Though that really shouldn't stop you from making a remix if you want to. I've seen countless versions of Eyes of Flame and songs from Castlevania.
