We definitely need more of these because there definitely isn't enough.

*wink wink*

I decided to try and do stuff without using an expansion pack (but still using DPCM because apparently that's okay) so I tried doing the Cave Story Final Battle theme... and it didn't end in a total wreck. Yay!

It's missing a few things, like an intro and a correct drum beat, but as to why I don't have those... I dunno. I'm not being lazy - heck, I can upload a version with those if you want, I just feel that it's okay as it is for now.

The melody sounds accurate and the duty cycles match the original as far as it's possible.
It some areas, it sounds a little flat (no vibrato to be found anywhere, rapid note cut-offs).
In terms of drums - check out my VRC6-version, you can use that if it helps

Edit: Maybe use the KIckMaster drums instead of Langarage Point, I think it fits better

If I thought of the final battle in 2A03, this is a pretty good interpretation. I'd say it's good!

Added some vibrato, because as Alexander said, it adds a bit of texture during the second half, and I've included a version with the correct drums.

I've stuck with the Langarage drums because, while the Kickmaster samples are nice I feel that the Langarage drums fit better, especially during the small intro.
