I'm about to start a big project in Famitracker, but I'm very hesitant when deciding how many spaces I put between notes (or the tempo of the song I guess). I'm worried that if I don't leave enough empty spaces, and I want some super fast notes in one spot, I'll be screwed. So I guess my question is...Is there a way to automatically put spaces between all the notes in a song? I know I could probably highlight and drag each note down a space, but there's gotta be a better way...right?
If you have any thoughts on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I've written a .FTM parser, so if you are good with C#, you can apply stuff like adding spaces between rows.
There are also speed change commands, so you can temporarily raise the speed for a few fast notes, then turn it back to normal for the rest of the song.
You can also press the Insert key on your keyboard when the cursor's on top of a note; it will shift all the notes (starting from the cursor onwards) down one space.

Great, thanks guys! I've been looking all over for that insert key function. I'm surprised it wasn't in the configuration menu. I think I'll stick with that method for now. If things get hairy, I'll probably try out your FTM parser too Dwedit.
I decide the spacing simply by making one frame be one measure, and one row be one of the smallest notes I need. For example, if the song had 25 measures and the smallest note was a sixteenth note in 4/4 time, I'd make a 25-frame song with sixteen lines to the frame. A sixteenth note would be one line long, an eighth note two lines, a quarter four, etc.
