I learned how to create DCPM files from scratch, so I made this song using the Triangle, DCPM and FDS channels only.

The song is "U.N. Owen Was Her?" (or maybe more commonly known as the background song in "Mc Roll'd" on youtube) which I'm currently working on as a regular cover.

Oh and the DCPM channel might be playing quite a few wrong notes, but that's because it can't play sharp notes, so I had to make up a few chords :P.

Enjoy!

(I also included the DCPM instrument if anyone wants it)

Wow, this is amazing. Interesting and innovative technique, and a good song to boot!

I was always wondering how to get a decent number of notes in the DPCM channel like this. However, I'm still wondering if there are some other sound samples that can be used for sharp/flat notes.

Hello, I'm new to this.. Almost every .ftm file I download causes FamiTracker to crash when opening it... I've tried both version 0.2.9 and 0.3.0. Am I doing something wrong?

The majority of files are made in FT 0.3.5 beta, therefore and open them in FT 0.3.5 beta.

I did this awhile back with some (somewhat muddy) bass samples. The trick is to make a clean C and C# sample, and map them to tones $00 - $07, creating every half step of the scale.

So you put a strange F94 and forget to put an F96 at the beginning of frame 04?

Also, I suggest using this wave rather than the original one FamiTracker gives you:
2 2 6 6 10 10 14 14 18 18 22 22 26 26 30 30 34 34 38 38 42 42 46 46 50 50 54 54 58 58 62 62 62 62 58 58 54 54 50 50 46 46 42 42 38 38 34 34 30 30 26 26 22 22 18 18 14 14 10 10 6 6 2 2
This triangle wave is slightly more rough than the original one, and it sounds even closer to the one in 2A03.

Otherwise, this one is pure epic.

And is there a V96 at column fx2, row 18, triangle channel pattern 00 or is it just me?

C#. Thank you very much, Rushjet1. Now that the X, Y & Z samples are based on C, all I'd need to do is make three samples for C# in the same manner (an indefinite loop of a small triangle blip). Brilliant!

Incredible. Although it makes me sad that this song is so heavily associated with McRoll.

You, sir, are a genius.
