I'm using the 3.5 beta, and all of a sudden, whenever I press a key, the note plays, but does not stop when I release the key. I half to go to Tracker>Kill Sound or press the stop button to stop it. I've tried closing and re-opening it, but nothing helps. I downloaded the previous version (3.0), and it doesn't happen there... I didn't change any settings as far as I know, but is there something stupid that I'm missing? This is really annoying, so if someone could please help it would be really appreciated!
1) If you are messing with the note release thingy, chances are that the note release system is incomplete and instruments using this function may act strangely.
2) Go to [File] --> [Configuration] --> [General] --> [Tracker edit style]. If you are using 'Impulse Tracker' style, notes won't be muted after releasing the button.
3) VRC7 instruments occasionally do this as well.
4) Otherwise, things like this are most likely random errors. Download FamiTracker 0.3.5. again. If it does not fix the problem, I can no longer help you - go and ask jsr.
Also if you mute that channel and un-mute it, it will stop the note as well.
Differences between FastTracker 2 style and Impulse Tracker style: (Modplug Tracker style has the same properties as FastTracker 2 style regarding the note release function, if I am not wrong)
Envelopes have no loop parts: In FastTracker 2 style, notes are released once the corresponding key is released (e.g. key G# and 'H'/'6'); In Impulse Tracker style, the note will stay at where the note release section starts. For example, an instrument with a volume envelope 15 13 / 11 9 7 5 3 1 0 gives 11 once one releases that corresponding key.
There is a bug where the note will end up looping the first frame of the release section even the note is not released.
Envelopes have loop parts: FastTracker 2 style ignores the loop at the moment one inputs a note, while Impulse Tracker style keeps looping the whole loop section, including the release section (the release section must be put inside the loop section if provided).
There is a bug where notes only release once they finish their loop sections. When there are multiple envelopes with both loop sections and release sections, some envelopes might therefore release earlier than the other envelopes.
I've tried using Fasttracker 2, but I don't know how to import sounds into it. If anyone could help with that, that would be nice. I heard you're supposed to import WAV files but I don't know how to import them into the program.

1) Go to the instrument editor of any 2A03 instrument.
2) Click [DPCM samples] on the tab.
3) You should find a button with 'Import' written on it. Click it and select a WAV file.
Also, this method is the same no matter which style you are using.
EDIT: Shoot.
I've never used FastTracker, I've always used Modplug Tracker (in regard to regular tracking software). Have you ever tried it? It looks to me a lot simpler to use than FastTracker, or II for that matter. I could help with loading samples and such...
