Hey guys.
I was just wondering if anyone could rip the Dirty Harry NSF because there are a few sounds I want to get off of there. I tried asking one NSF ripper and he told me he wouldn't do it.
Thanks,
-Nick

You might want to have a look at this:

I can tell you from my experience with ASM that it's a real pain to rip audio from a ROM. You have to first figure out which memory locations in it contains music information & then separate it from all other irrelevant data.

Anyways, I've tried a tool called NES2NSF (with little success as it outputs corrupted NSF files for me, even from games with no mappers). It might work for you, though, but I doubt it.

I don't understand any of that. That's why I have people do it for me.

Zophar's Domain is always a good place to find already ripped NSFs. (Note: tssf even submitted his MM9 and MM10 soundtracks there)

However, you usually need to find the soundtrack by the full name of the game. Or it is simply not there, so you can rip your own and post your NSF there.

Dirty Harry's soundtrack has never been ripped into an NSF. As a matter of fact, there are many games whose soundtracks have never been ripped.

Here's a list:

[url=http://gilgalad.arc-nova.org/nsf/documents/notrippedlist(06-06-09).txt]http://gilgalad.arc-nova.org/nsf/documents/notrippedlist(06-06-09).txt

The problem here is that there's no true way of simply ripping sound from a ROM without some skills in assembly language (an intermediate-to-advanced skill which Doommaster1994 & many others sadly don't have).

Perhaps a bunch of people should get together & try to rip all the unripped games on the above list.

That's the guy I tried to contact to rip the NSF but he never replied about it. The composers used Digital Performer on the Mac (They still make the program). It is a MIDI and Audio sequencer.
