Fifteen silver points to the person who guessed the song simply from the subject. :D

Anyway — below are my three attempts to 8-bitize Gato's Song, from Chrono Trigger.

The first two were made with 0.2.6/0.2.7 (before VRC6 was fully-implemented), and also kinda suck — especially Chrono Trigger - Gato's Song.nsf, which is the first one I made. ^^;

With gato.nsf (which I like to call 'take one-and-a-half'), I basically just tweaked the noise channel to include the clapping, and made the DPCM drums louder (which was kinda hard, 'cause the WAV-to-DPCM converter I had sorta sucked).

My latest one I just finished a couple of days ago, with the 0.3.5 beta and MMC5 chip.

I decided to include the old ones simply for comparison. And so that you could hear how Gato's Song may've sounded in a Chinese pirated game! :D

P.S.: the DPCM samples in the MMC5 chiptune are the timpani notes from the original Super NES tune; I just ripped and used them. ^^'

I think it sounds like it should, if it had to be done on the NES anyway.
