I want my vibrato to sound like this.

Mines sounds like a Megaman shot from the NES games though. Help?

What value are you using for vibrato? It might help if you upload your project file as an attachment on this forum.

Anyways, I assume you're using the effects column in the tracker to play a vibrato effect (using 4xy as a value). What you need is a fairly low value for x (since you want a slow vibrato) & a moderate value for y (you might want to try any value between 4 & 7, if I'm not mistaken).

Also, you might also want to use a portamento slide at the same time as the vibrato effect (for a smooth transition between notes). You can use 3xx in the effects column to achieve this (where xx is the speed of the slide).

I hope this helps.

Anytime.

The effects are simple codes that let you control notes in funny ways. For example, 4 represents a virbato. The x value tells the program how fast the note should vibrate (0 being the slowest & F, which means 15, is the fastest). The y value tells you the highest note your vibrato effect should slide up to.

Here's an example. We'll use the Do Re Mi scale.

Do1
Re
Mi
Fa
So
La
Ti
Do2

In famiTracker, they become:

C-3 00
D-3 00
E-3 00
F-3 00
G-3 00
A-3 00
B-3 00
C-4 00

Let's say you want a moderately slow vibrato, where you vibrate your note from Mi, up one note & down one note. In FamiTracker, you'd write this:

E-3 00 - 464

If you want to spread the vibration to go up 2 notes & down to, you'd increase the last number.

Wow thanks...erm, one more question. How do I stop the FX from affecting the future notes on that channel? Because now it's affecting the notes after the one I want.

You have to use 400 &/or 300, depending on the effect you want to stop.
