File -> Configuration -> Keys -> Note cut

use that key between notes to stop them.

I'll just clarify what Dave said (because it may not be easy to understand at first).

In FamiTracker, go to File -> Configuration.

Under the Keys tab in the new window, look on the right side; you should see 3 slots that are reserved for special functions.

Go to the Note Cut slot & type in a new key to be used for note cuts (preferably a keyboard key that's not associated with a musical note).

Similarly, you can use the volume column to do either a fade-out effect or an abrupt silence. For example:

E 00 F ---
- -- C ---
- -- 9 ---
- -- 6 ---
- -- 3 ---
- -- 0 ---

Or

E 00 F ---
- -- - ---
- -- - ---
- -- - ---
- -- - ---
- -- 0 ---

However, the problem with this is that you need to bring the volume back up to F when you want to play a new note. That said, using note cuts will eliminate this need.
