Welcome to Name That Game! I'm your host, Linker2a03.
The way this game is played, is by just simply listening to the supplied NSF, which contains cover songs* from a various amount of games. Then, all you have to do, is guess which Famicom/NES game the songs in the NSF come from. First person to get all of the songs right wins this round(round 1).
Ready? Download the NSF, and then...(wait for it...)
NAME THAT GAME!!
*Cover songs may not be totally accurate, but should be very close. Additional credit goes to nicetas_c for one instrument's timing.

These NSFs are for a future game for the Famitracker forums, where you try and guess what game the songs are from.
NSF Details:
I'm sure the instruments aren't 100% accurate here in Name That Game(A), since the main focus was to create a game here on the Famitracker forums that everyone can play, and also, I don't have a great NSF player that works well with my PC. Song 4 comes to mind. I could try to replicate them exactly, but that would require a lot more of my time. The reason for that, is that NSF Plug doesn't work on Windows Vista, but it will work on a Win98/XP OS, and I have another PC with 98. At the same time, Famitracker doesn't run on a Win98 OS, so I would be running back and forth between PC's. It's time consuming, and not worth the effort right now. The songs are close, though, just not perfect.
Name That Game(B) is a different type of a cover, as it's not supposed to sound 100% like the original, and it's not even from a game on the Famicom/NES. The original melody remains, though. You can get that file in this post.

First, you create a multi-song soundtrack in FamiTracker.
To do that, go to Module > Module properties & click on the ADD button. You can also remove tracks by clicking on the track's name & pressing the REMOVE button. You can rename tracks by clicking on the track's name & typing something in the text field.
Then, compile the NSF as normal; go into File > Export to NSF & press the EXPORT button.
11 is actually from the Super Mario Anime.
Awesome... Luigi's less of a fruit & more of an emo in this Mario cartoon. :P

Ah OK. I would have never thought of that. Now I am starting to know Famitracker completely. Now I just got to remember what all the effects do and I'm set. I'm sticking to the Beta version. I heard it's not safe to do that but so far I haven't had a problem with it.
Just download the help file for FamiTracker; it has an effect list. If the file is in the same folder as FamiTracker.exe, you can press F1 while tracking & the help file will appear.
