Hello, I've been working on this for a long time now and finally decided to release it, after a few private IRC-releases. You can get it here:

Some news in this version:

VRC7 & FDS support
New effect Sxx, cut note after xx frames
New effect Xxx, DPCM retrigger, xx = delay in frames
Fixed a bug that caused files with 64 instruments to not load
Fixed export bug where instruments with empty sequences caused the exported file to not work
Added an option to remove unused instruments & patterns
Load/save instrument & DPCM paths bug on Windows Vista & 7 fixed
Fixed the tracker/nsf inconcistency when note delay and speed change was used on the same row
DPCM file preview added
CTRL+click in frame editor to queue next frame (order) when playing
Copy & paste in frame editor. Ctrl+C to copy a row and Ctrl+V to paste
Added the note release command, setup a key in the settings window. The release-part of sequences is defined by a '/' in the sequence string (or right click in the loop-setting-part of the sequence editor).
Vibrato is now bending both up and down. The old style is still selectable to maintain compability with older files. (not completely done yet)
Fixed a bug that caused noise to skip a frame in some conditions

A more complete list of changes is included. The help files are not updated, but I'll release this as the next version once those are done.

Most things are supposed to work now, except for VRC7 pitch bends which does not work as supposed and not at all in exported NSFs. I still need to find a good way to do it on the OPLL chip. The old style vibrato needs some tweaking before it sounds exactly like before.
If you find any other problems, please post them here so I can fix it before the stable release. Thanks!

The beta does not run, it shows 'memory can't be read' fatal error. WinXP SP2, 32bit.

I can't run it either. It just says FamiTracker.exe has stopped working. Compatibility mode doesn't help. 64 bit Vista.

Hm, I'm 95% complete my MM10 soundtrack FTM. I wish this came out a couple weeks ago, but I suppose I could spend a day or two making it compatible. I can finally get rid of all these "end frame" instruments.

Hmmm, also, beta crashes for me as well. Vista 32-bit.

Just tried it on my netbook with 32 bit XP... no success.

Great, I'll check it immediately.

EDIT: Ok I think I found the problem. The file is updated.

It works now. However, after I've closed the program after some messing with all the new features, it showed fatal error on exit. If I simply run&close the program, there is no error.

Is the fixed note offset (to make triangle drums, for example) available in this version?

Can't say anything about newly added sound extensions, because non-standart DPI problem still there, and all the new instrument editors screwed to unusable state.

This update is really fricken awesome. I love the note release and note cut (though I would really love a "volume on frame delay" too, basically instead of note cut it sets a volume).

This is going to make composing a lot easier, and more intuitive. No more doing everything by hand in the patterns :D

EDIT: Kudos for fixing the timing inconsistency bugs in the main tracker, too! :D

I'll try to find what's causing the error. (I don't get them here so it's not easy to debug)

Note offsets are disabled (temporarily) because there was enough to do, I will look back into it in next version probably.

After export of the file containing VRC7+2A03, in 2A03 there is no sound in all channels, except for Triangle. There are also other problems, and all are connected with use VRC7.

This is spectacular! I can't wait until you have a more polished version. I'm giddy with anticipation. (Also I can't wait until there's N106 support, but that's another matter.)

What if there were some effect like Kxx (K for Konami) that could change the VRC7 patch to xx in the middle of the song?

Exporting an NSF of a song that uses the VRC7 is useless. I tried it with this [url=]http://famitracker.shoodot.net/forum/posts.php?id=761 and it was SO off... I couldn't tell what the song was supposed to be.

I agree; the VRC7 feature is quite useless if you want to export the project into an NSF.

Here's a sample project file & whipped up in the beta program & a compiled NSF. Just as retrotails said, it's horrible!

And because of the addition of different mappers, the new FTM file format is incompatible with FamiTracker 0.3.0.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I was working on a cover when I exported my NSF. there is no DPCM. It uses FDS sound; I haven't checked it with other chips etc...

There is a pretty substantial problem with NSF exporting currently, VRC7 is horribly mangled beyond recognition. Might be the same type of problem.
