I bet most of you are tired of threads like these :V
1. I can't find note-cut. I went to configuration, and went to shortcuts from there. Note-cut wasn't in the list...
2. It's tough to explain this, so I'll use an example.
So I have two instruments made, one I'll cal "Main", the other "Main2". I want Main to be short, with volume set to about "12 12 12 12 0". The other I want to be longer notes, volume something like "12 12 12 12 9". Whenever I go to set "Main" to said volume, Main2 changes as well. I change Main2 back, but doing so changes Main. All I do in it is change volume straight from new instrument, and that's about it...
1. Hm, note cut I believe defaults to the number 1.. that's what you would use to cut the note in the patterns.
2. They're both changing because they're both using the same sequence select. What I usually do is set instrument 1 to sequence select "0", and then on instrument 2, I will click "select next empty slot" and then FamiTracker will find the next available slot. That is the way the two instruments coincide with each other.
1. Note cut is one of the three definable functions in the "Keys" section, located in the lower-right corner of the General tab of the Config window.
2. Common mistake. You need to set separate sequences for each. Edit "Main", tick the "Volume" box and define the volume sequence as desired. Then edit "Main2", tick its "Volume" box, and select a different sequence number using the "Sequence select" field, located just above the virtual keyboard. Now you'll be able to define a new volume envelope that's independent from the other one.
Edit: 3. At least everyone here wants to be helpful. Something about this thread made me think that there'd be a race to answer it. =)
