Instruments 00 - 21 are all remade from ripped Mega Man 10 samples. The "WIP" instruments are samples I couldn't get quite right, but will keep working on.

March 23 2010 Release:

Fixed problems..caused problems, fixed those problems too.. Updated 4 times. Zophar's mods are going to fricken hate me. Ugh. If you all find problems, the FTM is included. Fix them. :P I'm done.

March 21 2010 Release:
Too much to list what I did, the important thing is the soundtrack remake is done. Please go over the NSF / FTM and let me know if there's something that seems out of place, or if there's any major errors.

March 16 2010 Release:
Added a few songs, some I didn't like, some I kind of rushed through, so any help identifying something I half-assed would be appreciated. Added: Chill Man, Solar Man, Wily Stage 1 Boss, Wily Stage 2, Wily Stage 4, Finished Wily Stage 5, Started Commando Man, Started Game Over

March 12 2010 Release:
Fixed some silly errors, added a few songs and yes I fixed the tempo on some songs. I'll continue to adjust tempos, but if "accurate" tempos interfere with a song's smoothness, I will go to something more compatible without being too drastic.

Songs completed:

1 - Capcom Logo (MM10 style, not in original game)
2 - Mega Man 10 (The "intro" sound effect)
3 - Intro 1
4 - Intro 2
5 - Intro 3
6 - Intro 4
7 - Title
8 - Main Menu
9 - Stage Select
10 - Game Start
11 - Pump Man
12 - Nitro Man
13 - Strike Man
14 - Sheep Man
15 - Chill Man - Original Cheated (2 Noise Channels)
16 - Solar Man - Original Cheated (Channel 1 goes below 2A03 NTSC limits)
17 - Commando Man
18 - Blade Man - (The most tedious song in the entire soundtrack to remake)
19 - Boss
20 - Stage Clear
21 - Get Weapon
22 - Shop 1 (Mega Man)
23 - Shop 2 (Proto Man)
24 - Shop 3 (Bass)
25 - Sickness
26 - Wily's Theme
27 - Roll's Sacrifice
28 - Wily's Castle
29 - Wily Stage 1 Prelude
30 - Wily Stage Boss Battle
31 - Wily Stage 1
32 - Wily Stage 2
33 - Wily Stage 3
34 - Wily Stage 4
35 - Wily Machine Battle
36 - Wily's Station
37 - Wily Stage 5 Original Cheated (Noise Sound is right, MM10's sample is of an instance of the noise that is rarely triggered)
38 - Wily Capsule Battle
39 - Victory / Success
40 - Wily's Gift
41 - Credit Roll
42 - Challenge Mode
43 - Special Stage 1 (MM1GB) Wily Stage Remix
44 - Special Stage 2 (MM3GB) Wily Stage Remix
45 - Special Stage 3
46 - Endless Attack - Original Cheated (3 Square Channels)
47 - Game Over

Enjoy.

Very nice work so far as always. I got a version of the entire soundtrack the other day (someone ripped it from the WAD file I guess). Besides the Wily stages I think the special stages have the best overall music. I'll take a look at the sounds and see if I can't fix my own try at Wily stage 3.

This is insanely awesome tssf! The only thing I might like to add is that the Pump Man tempo seems just a slight bit too fast.

Tallboy: If you have rips from the game, that would save work for me (I won't have to get to that point in the game to hear the music) ..I only have ripped samples, not music. Could you send them to me somehow? I'm also curious as to whether or not Bass's theme is among the rips.

danooct1: Thanks! I know about the tempo issues, I'll be adjusting all of them eventually, changing the tempo will change the timing settings of all the songs so I'll have to modify them, however the reason I kept it at that tempo was because the 2A03 timing worked best with it, anything else would start doing the frame shifting for compensation, and I'd rather keep the music compatible and listenable than speed-accurate and glitchy sounding. But I'll try and get it working.

Tonight I'll do another couple songs.. I've had the past 3 days off though so I've had some free time, and won't until next week some time.

Thanks for the reply. If you need the OST I can send it to you, Mex did a great job of getting high quality tracks, even the unreleased special and endless stages, which are pretty awesome. If you want it just let me know.

Thanks for the soundtrack rip guys.

I'm doing the Endless Attack song now, and I noticed at about 1 minute in, the song "cheats" and is using 3 square wave channels. I'll have to compromise and axe the square echo and use that for the melody/harmony. This soundtrack likes to cheat like this in some cases. I only noticed one instance in Mega Man 9 that did the same thing, and that was the shop music. (Triangle slide playing while a triangle sustained note was playing)

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of the things that Rushjet noticed while playing, like the drums during the sand storm in Commando's level, the "Beep beep" in Nitro's level, etc.

Also, I can't wait for your rendition of the Endless Attack song. It's an awesome one.

Endless Attack was easy as shit.. just repetitive. It wasn't anything like MM9's Endless Attack.

I didn't update the FTM. And yes, the tempo is a few beats per second faster than the original. Trust me, you want it that way. (It's 150 right now, I believe the original was 147 or something..)

..I'll keep the frame count a surprise for when I DO release the FTM.

That sounds insanely awesome. Where does the song loop, anyway? While I was listening to the OST it seemed like it repeated a lot of the same stuff, but then would add one tiny changed section.

Any chance of doing Special Stage 1 soon? It's a rather nice remix of the MM1 GB Wily stage, even though it does go off on its own tangent at times.

The staff roll also doesn't strike me as anything too special, especially since it's over five minutes long. Have fun with that one, I'm sure you'll continue to do an awesome job.

I couldn't help but notice a little problem with Sheep Man's intro, on frame 02 the first half of the Squares were a little late coming in, so I fixed it up.

Then again I could be wrong, so try not to flame me too much if I am wrong.

Thanks Mex, actually I wasn't aware of that problem.. fixed in the main FTM as well. (I did notice there was a timing issue but I couldn't figure it out, and Sheep Man's theme, the intro alone was getting me tired of making the song.. but no excuses, it's fixed now.)

In terms of some of your other concerns in your email:

It's just the way Capcom did the square notes in their instrumentation. They sampled the square with a bit of silence just before. When these samples are playing back at different speeds, they play at different times..that's why some of the note transitions and cut offs sound a bit off, you can't replicate that right on the original Nintendo.

There's also a few other minor things that annoyed me: highly detailed noise "samples" that have their detail playing at different volumes with no changes. While on the Wii / PS3 / X360, this is fine.. on the original Nintendo, this causes problems, especially since there's a 16 step volume limitation in effect.

In terms of tempo: I'm going to go right out and say it: I'm not striving for tempo accuracy. I'm striving for less-glitchy accuracy. In my S3M2NSF MM9 sound track, there's tons of tempo issues because I matched the tempo in most songs. In this one, I can't afford to do it..the timing issues are just too great (You should see Wily Stage 1, and what I have to do to keep everything frame-accurate.. you'll see that when the next FTM is released)

Since releasing this FTM, a few songs have been completed:

Protoman Shop Theme
Bass Shop Theme
Wily Stage 1 Prologue
Endless Attack (This is considerably an easier song than MM9's.. MM9's was super technical)

..so this gets my song count to about 30, only 16 to go. :D ..they're 16 of the longer, more technical songs..

danooct1: You want me to do Special Stage 1, AKA GB Wily Stage? After Wily Stage 1 is complete I'll do it. I gotta say, this one's gonna be a pain to replicate those leads. Time to play the song at 1/4th speed, half the sample rate and analyze the fuck out of it.

If you need a few FTMs for reference tssf, let me know. I was able to sound out a copy of Wily Stage 2, Solar Man and the Wily Machine fight.

Thanks danooct1, I'll reference them if I need to. Sivak, Special Stage 1 is next on the list, but Chill man will be after that.

New update, guys. First post updated.
