Well, after a few PM's to some other board members and a couple hours of pulling my hair out I have decided to let someone else take a crack at piecing together the rest of this song. This is only the first half of the song minus 90% of the second square channel. I can't for the life of me figure that channel's notes out in the first half. I can probably do most of the second half of the song (with the second square from the sounds of it) but I can already tell that the last few seconds are going to give me trouble with the mixing of the two channels. I'll update tomorrow with more of what I complete. The song is in the key of E flat major, (same as Bubble Man from MM2) that might help anyone with the notes. I really want to see a completed version of this song now that I worked most of the day on just this much!!!!!! Thanks.
Thanks, I worked my way through most of the song today. I got stuck on the sound design for the last couple frames.....I am stumped. I can figure out the notes OK on some, I'm just not sure how to make it sound correct. I've attached what I have so far for anyone that wants to see (or edit I suppose). EDIT: Added a little bit more, still missing the last half frame for all channels and the entire last frame of drums (noise)
Damn, I spent most of the day going over and over the last half frame to no avail. I cant decipher the chord progression. Every time I think I got it I run the pattern and it sounds awful. Anyone have any ideas?
The last frame is going to take some tricks. Luckily the song doesn't seem TOO hard. Bring the MP3 into a sound editor, lower the samplerate by 2, remake it and simply raise the octave / double the speed of what you remake, and there you have it.
Thanks for the help so far guys. I have not figured it out yet, although I am getting close. I am pretty sure I have the notes correct, I'm just now trying to figure out what they did to get the sound the way they did (arpeggios/delays/duty cycles). It sounds like they used all three so I've got some work ahead of me.
OK, I have spent two days off and on playing around with it and this is the latest (and I'm afraid the best) I can come up with for the last half frame. It sounds as if the notes are correct except for a few octaves at the end, but I cant figure out how it was designed sound wise. I'll keep experimenting. Also, in the latest version I fixed some drums and sound inconsistencies. There are still more in there but I will focus almost all my attention on that last half frame until it is correct.
