Is there any way to shorten the length of a specific note without having to use note cut? I want to make a series of short, quick notes in rapid succession, but notes that are close together with no rows between them don't allow you to cut the length of notes without deleting some of them.

Define an instrument that has a short volume envelope.

For example, a volume envelope of "15 0" will give you a REALLY short note (the shortest possible, in fact). There are a couple of presets you can experiment with, too.

That's one way. The other way is using A0x on the first note, then retriggering the volumes to restart the fades per starting of notes.
