So, I only have one other post here, and it's just to ask some bonehead question about the note cut that I really could have answered for myself with like five more minutes of playing with FamiTracker. So I figure I should make my second post a lot better.
This is my latest piece, written to be the main battle theme of a video game that a colleague and I are going to create. It's my first piece to use the VRC6 expansion chip, and I must say that now that I've tasted of the sweet nectar that is the VRC6, I can't imagine not using it from now on, and I'm really looking forward to the VRC7.
I'm very proud of this piece, and I believe that it is my greatest work so far. I welcome your praise/insults.

Thanks, tadpole. I wish I could say the same about Kent, but I don't seem to have any memories about the place at all from the maybe one time I've been there.

I like the song too, wish I could say the same about Kent. I grew up in Auburn. I don't really hate Kent, it's cool. Still have friends in Covington and the area.
Wow, another Washington peep! Are you still living in WA?
Anyway, modus, I know you're making music for the video game you're making, but are you interested in doing chip music competitions? Winter Chip V is going on now at www.battleofthebits.org, there's still 2 more weeks to submit.
yeah this is a rad tune, i'm getting echoes of film music in this, perhaps star wars or lawrence of arabia... there's a bit of pokemon thrown in there too. harmonically vibrant, i approve.
Well, tssf, when I start a new composition, I typically create every instrument I think I might use and then go nuts. In this case, before making this file I created a template file consisting of nothing but a big bank of instruments, which I then expanded a bit to fit the individual needs of this composition.
It's not a particularly size-efficient approach, but it's not that big of a difference and it makes my life a lot easier.
Dave, when I wrote the harmony for the expansion square channels in Frame 02, rows 0C through 18, I definitely had in mind the music from the Star Wars films that plays the moment the end credits begin. You know what I'm talking about?
I think I might! Ol' What's-His-Greek-Sounding-Name had nice things to say. I listened to some of your work, too, tadpole, and I like it.
Also, what's with the weird glasses that everyone's avatars wear over there?
