I extended the rows but I can't go past 256 rows so how do I make more room. Because once I get to a certain point it just starts overwriting the beginning of the song.
braddley, I would view the read-me file and learn about patterns if I were you. I think your biggest problem is you are using one pattern.
Trackers work on a pattern system with sequences therein.
Say you have a 64 rows in frame 00 (patterns are called frames here). Each frame holds whatever sequence of musical events you put into it up to 64. To continue, you can either add a frame or add more rows. The problem with adding the latter is that there is a cap as to how many rows you can have in a frame. The max is 256. This is where frames come in.
Float around the Show Off Your Work to download really good examples of this. Study carefully how they use the FamiTracker interface. That's what I did first time around.
