That's not how the N163 works. The hiss still present because all channels are enabled (confusingly). as 038 had the anti-hiss registry thing, but it still affects the real chip, and there's no reason for all 8 channels to be open anyway.

No, I'm talking about the 038 FTM. All 8 channels are enabled, but only 4 are ever being used, so the hiss is still there regardless of how many channels actually play anything. There's no need for all 8 channels to be enabled. He says he uses 0.3.8b3 because there's no hiss, but there wouldn't have been a hiss anyway if 0.4.6 with 4 N163 channels was used to write this.
