So, I was bored today, and I decided, "Hey! Hotline Miami!" So I went and tried to make a track similar to it, and got this. But there are some problems with it, and there are kinks that must be worked out. If you guys could help me finish it and make it not sound like pixelated trash, I'd be ever so delighted.

Hey not bad! I like what you have going on with your accompaniment (the thing in the intro) and how it compliments the melody well. Though, there are a couple of suggestions I have which might help improve some of the stuff I noticed in your track.
Try not to cut off your notes with an immediate volume 0 and try to instead use significantly lower volume levels (without actually using 0) to simulate echo. Also, try to avoid relying on a "0" volume on the first frame of an instrument to cut off a note. Although this would simulate a retrigger on the instrument, it would also cause a slight lag in the instrument, which I noticed as soon as the drums came in after the first pattern. If you don't have room in your patterns, double your song's Speed with Fxx! Since you're using F06, you would double your row count, CTRL+A all your notes, Right Click>Expand your patterns as they're highlighted, then use F03 to play at double speed.
I like the layering you did on your song, although I feel that ended up sacrificing some things the channels could have been doing. For instance, your song lacks a bass, which I feel would really help this song. Please consider replacing one of your layer channels with a bass. (I personally recommend re-writing the drums and using Triangle Channel for your bass)
Try starting out with a "boots and cats and" percussion pattern on your noise channel. (If you don't know what I mean by that, try saying that phrase out loud over and over)
Once you have that down, you want to play a single note on your bass to "compliment" that rhythm. The best way I can describe this is "think of the bass primarily playing notes during the "and" parts of "boots and cats and." Play on the "off-beats"!
After you have that down, polish your bass and rhythm to do its own thing while retaining that "skeleton" you just wrote on them. I've attached an FTM to help explain what I'm talking about.
Holy crap! Thanks alot! Also, do you mind if I use some assets of the example, such as the re-written version of the melody, plus some instruments? If not, its totally fine, but I can't believe you took something I personally loathed listening to into something absolutely amazing! Thanks for helping build off of this idea!
