As it stands, Famitracker isn't so hot for live applications. ASIO could enable users to accurately perform and/or record in real time. That said, there are workarounds for recording, and live performance is monophonic unless you also implement a split feature similar to Renoise (which would actually be very cool).

I dunno how much of the lag is just the NES frame rate tho.

Ok I see, but this application wasn't really designed with live performances in mind though. (Polyphony being one example.)

Even if ASIO was added, there would still be an inherent unavoidable delay from the audio update interval (16-32ms). Though still better than the 40ms (or what the limit is) I guess.

If someone happens to know if the ASIO API is freely available then I can at least take a look, but cannot promise anything. Something like the MidiNES (or similar) would be a lot more ideal for live performances.
