My friend Trip wrote it. He did the original in a tracker for Gameboy, but I decided to remake it in Famitracker for a fangame I'm working on.

You can hear the original here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D2KQH4P5

I've started tracking the intro, but I can't get the toms to sound Megaman-esque enough to do it.

hmm why not make them more like your original? The source file has to have instrument programming info you can translate over to Fami and you can make it sound nearly the same (The song is great but why mimic the megaman style when your style works just as good if not better?)

Anyway tom-wise, you are as close to the MM style you can get..you can try to mimic pitch settings from older games and see if you can get close to it, but I honestly don't hear a problem with it.
