I might be working on this one for some time yet, but it's presentable enough for now and it shouldn't take long to figure out.
(No rickrolls this time ) [color=#333](Nope, it's even worse than that.)

Try to stay around 9/A volume for your pulse and noise channels for standard 2A03. This is because you can't change volume on DPCM/Triangle easily. Also, try to make the harmony 1 or 2 volume levels below the melody's so it's not battling with it/taking the lead.
In addition, try to make your kick stand out more by playing it for at least two frames. It might also help to use a V01 duty cycle on the kick too (in either the instrument itself or the pattern).
Perhaps refer to this FTM I posted in another thread for percussion sound design help: [url=http://famitracker.com/forum/attachments/64637/drum_example.ftm]http://famitracker.com/forum/attachments/64637/drum_example.ftm
As far as the arrangement's notation goes, I like the independent rhythms going on on your pulse 2, but unfortunately the notes you're playing feel rather bare when combined with the melody and bass. I think the main culprit is the bassline on the Triangle channel.
Try arranging the bass notes from the original track again (the lowest notes you can hear in the song), because the bass is the most important part of defining the chord progression (I also like to emphasize the importance of melody, but for the most part you got it!).
This is less important but an irk: Perhaps separate Pattern 00's row 00-07 from the rest of the pattern by moving the rest of the track to a new pattern, then chopping off the very first pattern early with a "D00" on some unused effect slot (preferably on DPCM since you're not using it in this song). By doing that, hopefully you can line up the song's beats more evenly.

...I've actually never heard this song in its original form ... I stumbled across some sheet music arrangements ([url=http://sketchyd.com/sketch/181]lol) for it, but I basically just scored it by memory.

I did that on a whim just for the challenge (I have a crazy idea involving this song that would actually require the pickup notes to not be in a separate frame from what follows them, for which I'm glad that it worked out as well as it did). Now if only we could specify a default starting volume for each channel, I wouldn't have to delay the final notes of the loop by a row.

Anyone up for a round 2? This one's a straight cover for now, but I'll be working on a remix for it later.

Pretty sure this isn't it, but that reminded me of this for some reason: [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upPIS_ZWUuw]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upPIS_ZWUuw
