I'm new to this, honestly, I discovered Famitracker 2 days ago so I only know the basics, still I'm in love with the idea of making music and I've done my best effort, feel free to say what I can do to improve my work, I want to get good at this.
The files are a mess... I made the instruments just by playing around until I found something I kinda liked, and I actually did take some of them from other post (Can't remember which one, I'll look for it later).
This is actually not bad at all considering you started only two days ago. When I first started Famitracker, it took me a day to figure out how to input a note and then play it ...
Anyways, your covers are pretty basic, but they sound okay. All the notes seem to be in the right places, the instruments are okay (although you really could use some more duty cycles, V00 all the time doesn't have that much variety ). I recomment you look at other people's work here on the Famitracker Forum, dissect them and look what makes them sound great.You seem to be able to learn fast, make good use of that and learn from others . Maybe take another look at a few tutorials to get deeper in touch with all the functions and effects Famitracker has to offer. Experience is the key word.
I wish you the very best and have a fun time tracking!

thanks for the support I've been looking at other people's work and they are so complicated D: I could use some tutorials form more advanced stuff, if you know some please send me the link
also, what des exactly V00 means? I still don't understand everything people say around here :P
what does V00 mean?
The Vxx effect is generally used to change the waveform (used in 2A03, MMC5, VRC6 and N163). So if you use this in 2A03 pulse channels, you'll get following results:
V00 = 12,5% square
V01 = 25% square
V02 = 50% square
V03 = 75% square (sounds similar to 25%)

Wait, is 75% only SIMILAR to 25%? I'd always assumed it was identical and ignored it.

Well, you can create a little pop in the system (similar to a Zxx, just weaker) by changing from V01 to V03. But in general - yeah, it's just mirrored and (should?) sound the same.

75% duty is just a 25% duty square starting at a different phase angle. It'll sound the exact same in the long term but the starting point of the wave (the phase) is a different point which can be exploited to create some different sounds unachievable with one single channel.
If you were to combine 75% and 25% duty on the same note, you'll get a thinner sound because of phase cancellation. As in the diagram Warheart linked, you can see points where it is +1 on 25% and -1 on 75% at the same point in the cycle, making it 0 because of the way inteference works. You can see how this affects the sound in the FTM I've attached.
It would be wrong to assume it's identical because it sounds the same. Phase is something that should be considered into any sort of audio-related work. If something is out of phase, it can negatively impact the sound (making it tinnier, quieter, or, in the case that it's the exact same audio's phase inverted, silent - take a track into audacity, copy it into second track so that it's there twice and then invert the second one; you'll get complete silence) or it can positively impact the sound (making it louder, adding punch, etc).
Hopefully this clears up some confusion about duty cycles.
Pretty much what Sam just said, it usually matters what square wave you'll choose because it might interact differently depending on what else is playing. V01 may sound better in some situations and V03 may sound better in others. And yeah, if you combine these two squares together, you'll get interesting results (or they just cancel each other out). Here's my cover of Wily 2 from Mega Man 8, just to show what you can do with V01 and V03.

ok to be honest I didn't completely get what are the duty cycles :P but they seem useful, thanks for the help everyone, I might try another song with more variety the next days
hey Warheart, this might seem like a dumb question but what are those Namco channels in the file? how did they get there?
edit: okh I foundout that :P wow the namco 163 is awesome, you can add some extra tracks so you can do whatever you feel like, is there any difference in sound with the konami one or the other expansions?
