(First Post on this forums) Because I lack someone to criticize my work, I´d like to hear some feedback about this last song I made. I´be been in and out FT since a year now (with a long 5 long months out), still discovering how to use the effects in "good" ways and still long way getting drums right (That´s how I see it) (and the use of DPCM)

About the song:
(Really unsure if too get too deep into theory) The main looping melody key is in Gsharp followed in the second track the perfect 4th, Csharp. Booth of them follow a descending melody that includes all the notes in a blues scale, hence the name. In difference of Triangle and Pulse 1 on the VCR6 extension doing an ascendant bass just in Gsharp. That Ascending and Descending melodies was something unusual to me. The Leads are two lines that switch between them, one has effects, the other is clean. When it comes to the "bridge" part (don't have another name for it), The looping melody and bass go up a whole tone and lower a semitone midway trough. The Leads get around it and resolve into the loop again.

I saw it as a boss theme because of the feel it gave me when I finish it.

Hello and welcome to the Famitracker Forum

Maybe it'd be a good idea to attach the song you want to show? ^^

I like what you did with pattern ID 02 and the keychange in frame 04, but that's about it. It's not bad as a theme, it just needs more material. As it stands right now it is very very very repetitive, and while this is probably not so noticeable if you're actually playing a game (e.g. Mega Man 1 boss music) it makes the song difficult to listen to by itself.

Also, I notice that Triangle and VRC Pulse 1 are only ever playing the same notes (differing only by octave) ... if you need to insert an extra part at some point, eliminate one of them to free up the space. That's the limitation you accept when you try to do 3- or 4- note chords, sometimes it really hamstrings what other parts you can mix in with it.

Welcome! It's pretty good, but I think the noise drums ruin it. Try using DPCM.

I'd have to disagree; I don't think DPCM would be all that fitting for this song, but you could certainly make the noise drums more distinct with volume and arp settings.

Well, now being a bit more active in this community, and seen other people´s stuff, I know a bit more about drums vs. volume control!, to give the effect of better sound quality on the matter.

Thanks for the recommendations and else, I´ll be sure to post more of my stuff when I fink they sound well enough for me so that you can tell me otherwise, for improvement that is, of course.

(The track is the same as the old one + better volume control on drums - triangle {yes, triangle wasn't doing a thing, you couldn't hear it, and I´ll try adding something in the part after the key change in that channel })
