Yeah, this is quite pretty without getting sentimental. Have you tried fugue writing? I feel like you might have a knack for it and it might be helpful for future compositions especially if you're not feeling confident about the interaction between two voices (although, again, I think this piece is very nice and doesn't need changing if it's intended for a relatively short scene).
