It's been months since I've last posted my work here. To make up for this I have brought you two covers I've recently finished.
First is Cindy Electronium [N163-4], one of the earliest examples of electronic music, composed in 1969 by Raymond Scott, one of the founding fathers of electronic music, for his Electronium. Some experimental stuff here, gets a little repetitive but is incredibly catchy.
I liked how the 2nd part tuned out since I've emulated a near-accurate waveform completely by accident.
Thinking about it I must say it is somehow related to chip music. Somehow.
Next is the intro for The Rite of Spring [N163-8]. I expected a gargantuan project when I started this last year, but not to that extent. Working on and off it took one year to finally see the day of light.
-Finding a way to put the complex rhythms on a tracker
-emulate each instrument while making sure they don't interfere with each other (which is especially true of N163)
-Having to choose which is staying and which is going since more than 16 instruments can play at the same time
You get the idea. And that's working with the score too.
I noticed the 50% square makes a perfectly acceptable substitute for a clarinet among other things.
