So this is my first track using vrc7 and I'm having alot of fun but I am kind of stumped on how to get rid of all the static/white noise and achieve a better overall sound quality. Any suggestions on getting the most out of this module would be most appreciated. I've also kinda gone with a bit of an 80's inspired feel with this one, do you think it's any good or should I just scrap it?

Is this an original composition?

Well, it's basically okay (nothing like wrong notes as far as I can tell), but it just doesn't sound like it's going anywhere.
I'd suggest you listen to a lot of videogame music (preferably MegaMan 1-6 since those are good examples) to get a feeling on how to create streamlined songs that follow a certain theme:
Have a small buildup at first, then make a few recognignizable parts of melody. Maybe vary the melody one or two times. Keep a pretty consistant bass and drum (varianions are helpful, though ^^). Then, you might either wanna end the track or loop it if it's supposed to be a level-like theme.

About the static noise - I can't hear any noise except the drums ... maybe it's your audio configuration?
But still, try and stay under volume 11 [B] with the VRC7. The thing about that chip is that it seems to use logarithmic volume scaling instead of linear. And, if it gets too loud, there'll be clipping and everything gets messy.

Good luck composing and keep practicing!

Great suggestions Alex, thank you again for taking your time to help me through this. Yes it is original, but nothing special, just kind of noodling around with new instruments and basically getting a feel of the module. As far as the static, I'm experiencing it's not only through my sub par computer speakers, but also when I put the track on my phone and play it in my car, which actually has very nice sound quality. But on my next vrc7 attempt I'll make sure I stay within the recommended volumes.
I also have another track that I completed a couple weeks ago but for some reason I haven't posted, that I'd really like to hear what you think, I just don't want to over post here.

Uhm ... how am I suppose to help you on the song if you won't upload it here? ^^
It's not like you're gonna get bashed à la "BRUH WOARST SCHONG EVER 0/10 GET A LIFE!!11", I mostly encountered constructive criticism. If you don't know what you're doing wrong, how could you leard how to do it right?

I personally would like to review you song
