Would it be possible if there is no selection and the copy-key is hit that only the currently selected pattern is copied?

How about Ctrl+A (select all)?

Yeah, hitting Ctrl+A once will select the selected column and hitting it twice selects the whole pattern. Then just press Ctrl+C

Oh, i thought "pattern" means just a single cell with note, volume and effect (said in the wiki).

Ok I see you want to copy a single cell only. I'll think about it.

In my opinion, I would prefer for the default behavior of the Copy command to be nothing. It's easy to get some complicated selection and copy it, and before you can paste it, accidentally hit Ctrl + C again. With the way things work right now, nothing will happen, and that's excellent. Besides, it's easy enough to put the cursor where you want it and then hold Shift and quickly press left and then right to select only that cell.
