Hello! I'd like to know if there's any way to get waveform data from TurboGrafx-16 music. What tools/knowledge do I need to achieve this?

Also, does the TG-16 allow waveform sequences, like the ones that we can define in FT? I don't know much about this console so this information would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Yes it's possible, you can use NEZplay to get the waveform data from HES files. Load and play the HES file, press DMP and select device HuC6230. This will make the wave data currently playing available, which is 32 steps with 5 bit resolution.

Regarding wave sequences, I'm not sure. It depends on if it's possible to rewrite the wave buffer while the channel is playing, which is possible on N163 but not FDS for example.

If anybody needs detailed instructions, [url=http://famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=1032&pid=57120#57120]I posted some instructions on ripping waveforms from SCC music about half a year ago in the instruments thread. This method is also usable for PC Engine and Game Boy waveforms, as stated in the post.
You can also rip non-preset OPLL patches from MSX music by taking the values from registers $00-$07, which are the custom patch settings.
