Hi,
So I'd like to request 2 things. One of them is a way to check Multiple Chips in the module properties since some of the covers I want to do doesn't have enough channels using only one expansion chip. I know there's a thread for MultiChip FTMs but they're really buggy and some won't load. The second one is that I heard the Nintendo MMC5 has a DPCM channel. It's true where I got it from since there was a picture of a NSF playing and in the channel list I saw one and it said "MMC5:P." I also heard the DPCM channel stops playing whatever sample it's playing when one of the MMC5's pulse channels plays something. I'm not too sure if that's true, but I know there's supposed to be a DPCM for the MMC5. Can someone please add these two features?
Multichip is already planned for after when the final expansion, 5B, is supported. No PCM is planned for Famitracker at all. Either through the onboard DMC channel or through the MMC5 PCM channel. If you want DMC PCM, then use Deflemask or supernsf. As far as I can tell, jsr does not ever plan to implement PCM.
I strongly disbelieve that MMC5 PCM channel can play DPCM through it, you'll have to provide some hard evidence otherwise. [url=http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/MMC5_audio]http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/MMC5_audio
I've never heard of the MMC5 being able to play DPCM either. It can play 8-bit PCM, though, but it's pretty impractical to implement into a driver like Famitracker's (just like 2A03 7-bit PCM).

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to [url=http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3633]request a hardware render.
The MMC5 has no DPCM hardware capability, only a 8 bit DAC register for manual playback of PCM streams.
Multi-chip support might actually happen now at some point since I have the necessary hardware to play such files. It'll happen after the sunsoft support has been finished though.
