Hey all, I'm just posting to mention that I'll be in New York City between December 30 and January 1st. If anyone in NYC or the area wishes to meet up, there's your chance. My hotel is actually in New Jersey, but I'll be spending most of my time in NYC.

I don't really expect anyone to really care that much (I don't even know if anyone at all in this community is in NYC), but I just thought I'd bring it up anyway, in case anyone is interested in organising some form of chiptune-themed social gathering. If enough people are interested, we could even take the opportunity to either have a live OHC session, make a collab, or something like that.

Chances are I'll be busy all three evenings, but I'll have time to kill during the afternoons.

Anyway, like I said I don't expect this to get much traction at all, but you never know~

It's not a bad idea to mention it, the way of the chiptunist is much like that of a lonely wolf... Hey, maybe there should be a FamiCon some day (hahaha I'm so funny)

And that's why I hate to live in Poland.

[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bniKAbwhOhU]FamiCON is actually a name of a mini-convention in Poland created by EMU-NES#PL Crew.
^I just made a post to say that one thing.

I'd really love to, but well ... I'm with the others in Europe. And traveling to the USA isn't something you just do spontaneously just for fun.

But good luck finding a few guys that can mae it to NYC

I'm under the impression that most people here live in either Canada, the southern US or Europe.

Oh well. The offer still stands.

It's a shame that traveling is so expensive... Because I would love to meet some people from these forums. Nobody lives in Sweden, except me and jsr. I actually have no clue what city does jsr live in...

Woah, from this forum, I have no idea, but Sweden is one of the most, if not the most active place in the chip and demoscene community.

moviemovies1 is also from Sweden, as is Kreese. I can't think of anyone else right now, but I'm fairly sure there's more.

Ah, yeah, that's true. My bad.

Still, that's closer to you than most fellow Canadians are to me. :p

NYC is (or used to be?) a very active area regarding chipmusic so there should be no problems finding people there. I'm not sure how many there are here at this place though, you might have better luck at chipmusic.org for example.

Warheart: I'm living in Linköping for the moment.

Speaking of meetups, I had the opportunity to meet some people in Japan a few weeks ago, that was totally awesome!

New York City is still a thriving area for chiptunes, but most chiptune artists there are actually live Gameboy musicians... Same goes for Montreal, actually (and the scene is actually dying a little bit, with Toy Company being less and less active because the guy who started the whole operation is struggling to find new artists to take over from the retiring ones).

Yeah, that's bad.
I have no idea if there are any Chiptune scenes in Germany or my city I am in.

I'm all alone here in North Western USA. Most people I go to school with don't know the chiptune scene let alone what an NES is... Would be cool to meet some other people but considering the fact that I'm a teenager in highschool, travelling is out of the question.
