I practice and learned about Famitracker via a few youtube links, namely the series based off of this video.

I believe I have a good idea how to use the main editor as well as the notes, volumes and some of the effects (but I don't know how those effects work and trying to research it and trail and error too). At the very least the music notes should be accurate according to the actual game's song (I used VirtuaNSF and Audacity to record the individual channels).
Pulse 1 is the 'echo' I believe or the bass of the main melody.
Pulse 2 is the 'lead' or the treble of the main melody.
Triangle is...well the triangle and I think the only part I got 100% correct
I know there is a Noise section but I have no idea how to use that yet.
The biggest question I have more than anything else is how do I make the right instrument for Pulse 1 and 2 since they sound like the same instrument from the game. I tried an old game to start off as I would honestly like to do more sophisticated game melodies from the NES (yes Kirby's Adventure is the main reason why I'm doing this :p ).
First off does it sound like at least both Pulses and the Triange are correct (the melody, not the instruments)? And second could anybody please if not tell me how to make the right instruments and how to properly determine the right sounds for the Noise channel, then where I should go to get such proper help on this forum/wiki/etc? Despite me experimenting between V00 through V03 I have the foggiest idea which of the four would be the right one.
Thank you for your time and patience, I hope to be an active member here as I've fallen in love with FamiTracker already. The link below is the actual game music from Kid Icarus' Underworld.
There are many wrong notes in the pulse channels especially. Perhaps you should try using [url=http://rainwarrior.ca/projects/nsfplay/index.html]NSFPlay to listen to NSFs instead - it features a keyboard view that tells you exactly which channels plays what (on top of being generally much more accurate to the real hardware than VirtuaNSF).
Additionally, you may want to try importing your NSFs in Famitracker using the [url=http://rainwarrior.ca/projects/nes/nsfimport.html]NSF importer, which is a hack of Famitracker made by our very own rainwarrior.
Both of these tools should help you make more accurate covers.

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to [url=http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3633]request a hardware render.
Your notes cut too early. Try them to have more sustain time in order to make them to sound more natural.
There I fixed a bit to help you achieve a "delay" effect. Maybe it doesn't sound exactly like Kid Icarus, but it will help you to get another results. Instrument creation is a real trial and error process, and takes time to get used to it. Don't hesitate in having lots of instruments!
I didn't know about the S effect, thanks! That will help me in saving instruments for bass sections!

Sorry for taking a bit of time, finals coming up. :p
I think I got it just if not perfect then REALLY close. Maybe the bass sounds a little too strong and I need to soften it a bit. Tried to match it perfectly to that Famitracker Ripper link from before, that was a huge help.
I tried using NSFImport again, and yes you're right there were even more notes wrong in my two pulse columns. Corrected, hopefully 3rd time's the charm? Are at least the instruments correct?
