Hey there, since my last post(my first 5 songs) I've taken advantage of the recommendations those who responded made. I thank you again and look forward to more suggestions after posting this too! On this track I must give credit to Zamuels instrument pack, otherwise this track wouldn't have been nearly the same. I also sampled from DMC_samples_9_14_08. All comments welcome, enjoy

Hello
First off: WAY better than before
It is a lot more diverse than your first attempts and it makes better use of the channels and their capabilities. Also, interestng decision using the N163.
I don't know if you're aware of this, but you can use up to 8 channels (although you only should use 6 max) with the N163. To change the number of used channels, go into your module properties and - after selecting the N163 - there's a slider changing the number of Namco channels.

About the music itself: It's definitely a step up from what you had before, but there's still much practice needed. It doesn't really have a recurring theme or is exceptionally memorable. It just ... plays. Also, you can stop the song at the end with C00.
Here's another thing: Try and use the release (double line). Look into your configuration to find where your release button is located. When a release is triggered, the pattern inside the instrument switches to the 'release'-part of the envelope (starting after a / in the MML string). Like this, you can make your instruments fade (or do all sorts of stuff depending on the inputs) instead of just cutting them off.

So, bottom line: You proved that you are able to learn and improve, keep that up!
Learn a bit more about the techniques and rules of how things work inside the tracker.
Last thing - try any analyze popular 8 Bit music (Megaman, Mario, Castlevania, tracks from this forum ... the list goes on ...) and try and see what makes them so memorable, catchy and well-known. I believe this will improve you own skills as a musician.

Have a nice day and good luck
- Alex

Thank you Alex!! I have spent the past few weeks messing around with different techniques and trying to get more listenable music. The part about the recurring theme, or lack there of rather, is exactly what I felt about it! improvement is crucial.
The double line is something I had been wondering about. I'll start toying with it now that I know it is different from just the regular sound cut.
I'm going to keep plugging away and post my next track that I have been working on. Thank you very much for your help. Thank you OSMasterX for the samples too, I have already used a couple in the piece I'm working on now

I'll agree with everything Alexander had to say. One more suggestion though. Since this song is in 3/4, if you want to make writing the music a bit easier you can change the row highlights by changing the numbers labeled "row highlight" in (where it should be) the top right. Setting "2nd highlight" to 12 makes it look a lot nicer and easier to follow
