Haven't put up any Uematsu before, so here's something sunny of his from FFIX (an underrated OST, if you ask me). Somewhat similar in nature to the content of my last post, curiously.

Not much else to say. Good tune, but making this track not sound so much like a buzzsaw with my soundchips of choice was not easy...

Edit: Reuploaded, some balance changes. Probably nigh imperceptible.

.. NO replies? On THIS?

I might be new to this stuff but this sounds fantastic! I was wondering how you'd tackle the guitar, but it sounds totally convincing. The "energetic" part is really punchy and sounds so much like the original. The dynamic range in general is great.

I feel like there are some notation issues around frames 32-33, but maybe that's one of those things where it's actually like that in the original but you can't hear it cause the background parts are usually much quieter.

This one is definitely going in my collection!

Mmm, it's alright. Generally speaking these forums are pretty quiet; people might comment if they're interested or if they have something to say, but things move pretty slowly overall. I imagine many of us are pretty busy with other things in life, so it's a blessing to be able to easily keep up with the goings-on.
(Welcome, by the way! That Rainbow Road of yours is pretty slick for a first post, though is it half a step sharp compared to the source? Am I just imagining that?)

Yeah, I don't have much experience with softer work myself, so controlling and balancing the dynamics is still something I have to get used to. As for accuracy, I most likely did mess up in a few places... but if you're referring to the weird accidentals in frames (hex) 32-33 then yeah, they're actually there in the original (just really soft, as you said).
Or maybe I put them there because I'm hallucinating them when I listen to the source. Either way, I'm hearing something irregular... :-\

I see, I see.

And thanks! But no, it really is a half step higher... I was working from an SPC700 rip I made with ZSNES yeaaaaars ago and apparently ZSNES used to play things up a half step. News to me!

I think I actually have a copy of the FFIX OST somewhere, I'll have to have a listen...
