Not exactly a surprise, it's the laziest chip out of all. Out of 1 million VRC6 modules out there, there's only like 20 good and creative modules...
For the record, yes, I don't like that chip. Not because what it can do, but what other people have done with it.

I agree that there's something about the VRC songs that make them sound typically not-NES in terms of song quality. Maybe it's the extra timbres on the +2 pulse channels?
No love for FDS? I chose SID chip but my actual favourite is a tie between VRC7 and FDS.

This is highly subjective but I think quite the opposite, VRC6 is the only expansion that adds something to the NES sound without making it sound not-NES like.

@jsr I believe Stratelier is blinded by nostalgia (likes 2A03 square waves way too much). I'm pretty sure that's why he said like that.
@Stratelier I never said that VRC6 was a bad chip in terms of sound. Try to understand what I wrote before. Is it really that hard to be open minded?
