hahah! oh man, so awesome, i'm surprised no-one had done this already. i hope whoever takes over can keep with your level of quality, that's all i can say.
Hehe all you need to do is the bridge now, and then the song can be completed! If you noticed, I had the samples already in the song, I just never used them because I never bothered to get that far :P heh

I did, actually. And it's been uploaded here for over a month, now, though not finished(Check the "NEW NSF Cover*UPDATE*2009/11/02" topic). The thing is, I went after a different style. I purposefully made the game sound more like Super Mario Bros., than any game later than that. This is because the DS game itself was following SMB closer than the other game in the series.
If you listen to the song don't mind the other two songs in the NSF. Song 2(underground) was a test, and not finished, and there's maybe 4 wrong notes in song 3(Mega Mushroom). I was tired. Didn't pay attention, and I haven't uploaded the revised version yet.
Either way, good work, tssf, and Mex. Sounds a bit like a later Mario NES game. can't wait to hear the finished song.
