How do I get this working? I understand it had very limited support on an old wip famitracker(2.8?). I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
you can also use it2nsf to get access to all six sound expansions

dunno how long this link will be active so grab it while you can. the downside is that it has a steeper learning curve, as it requires some knowledge of MML.
but yea, it's in the works for FT as well, so it'll be available in future
It's cool how S3M2NSF evolved. I just wish the envelopes were actually translated via the envelope editor in IT instead of having to do MML for it all. Ah well.
VRC7 is version of Yamaha OPLL, so if you want to try FM part only, without 2A03 channels, you could use MSX emulator with MSX software (there are trackers). There is no easy way to make NSF using MSX software, though (the only way is to made converter by yourself).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqWD8WP0KmE ...I'm wondering how this was done. It says in the description that it's an old FT wip. Did this older edition come with the feature already built in or did TristEndo tweak it up or something?

yeah. I guess if I was to do the FM part by itself, I'd do an ol' opl3+adlib combo. Not a bad idea, I guess it'd work out fine if I kept the VRC7 restrictions in mind.
VRC7 FM and OPL3 FM don't sound that different do they? I mean, if you were to sort of handicap the OPL3s capabilities...
as far as FM goes, vrc7 is pretty weak. there are better ways to write FM music. the only benefit as i see it is if you get on well with FT's interface... or are stubborn about sticking to NSF format :P otherwise it might be a better idea to look into other FM trackers.
trite_churki: there was a beta version of FT released about 15 months back, which had very preliminary/broken vrc7 support (couldn't export nsfs, couldn't re-open saved FTMs, though you could write tunes if you were okay with doing it all in one session.)
