Hello everybody, I've been thinking about if i should make my own tracker for a bit, and i've decided to make my own FM music tracker, i want to base it off of a chip, but I don't know which?... ok, I know now, how about we base it off the Sharp X68000, theres two sound chips in the system, the YM2151, which produces 8 sound channels, and the Oki MSM6258, an ADPCM sound chip that produces 1 sample channel, but also an extension chip which is know as the PCM8, which raises the sample channel count to eight!

Now what do you think...

I don't know stuff about programing shockingly... so i need a big team to work with me on this project, and this people have to know what a tracker needs if they want it to work

One person who's very fluent in programming and understands sound waves and manipulation can certainly do this by them self. Not that either of those are easy concepts, but there's no necessity for a huge team of people.

I think you can find a lot of x68000 info in the vgmrips wiki including an mml compiler called mxdrv to make native files and should probably move discussion to there.
