Some of the percussion in my song I had drawn some inspiration from the unknown song, and I sort of used the unknown song (well, partly the unknown song, other MM songs in general as well) as a blueprint to see how Mega Man songs transitioned, but other than that, no, not that I know of. :o
I edon't think the MM10 song was a good basis for the Megaman style to be honest. I've yet to hear anything from MM10 that I truly like. MM9 at least was catchy.. MM10 is catchy the same way MM6 was catchy: which means it's nothing stellar :/ In my opinion anyway.
That being said, if you want some suggestions on maybe making it more of a megaman style, try raising the pitch on the tom slides, that could make it more effective. Also the second part of the song would do better with some cool little echo effects (ala MM3).. Your song is pretty cool still! I like it a lot, man.

Some MM10 stuff sounds pretty distinctly un-megaman to me. Also MM6 had a couple gems here and there (boss and final boss though, are my favorites).
I'd have to agree with you, tssf. It seems like every song they have out so far jumps wildly in style halfway through the song. The stadium sounding stage from the trailer starts out like one you might expect, but the random happy cheering section with the toms across the channels just sounds incredibly awkward.
It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the soundtrack pans out.
- I guess the unknown music is the "title screen" or "Wily Castle 1", but not for one of the 8 stages. It's a poor trailer; MM9 has/had an awesome presentation.
I think the song is good so far, but my suggestion, would be to make the melody flow together a bit more at the middle and the end of the song. I guess what I'm saying, is if you can make the main melody a just little bit simpler, then it would sound great. Though right now, it actually sounds like it would fit a title screen, or Wily Capsule song(or both?). Good work, and keep making more Mega Man tunes!
And while everyone's on the subject of Mega Man 10...
As far as the Mega Man 10 music, I'm thinking it's a Boss stage theme, instead. Unfortunately, this is the only song that I think sounds okay. Everything that tssf, Rushjet1, and danooct1 said about Mega Man 10's soundtrack so far, is exactly what I was thinking, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's disappointed right now. Actually, I'm not glad. Here's what I think:
The intro theme definitely sounds like a pirate game, and I believe that's thanks to the way the Triangle and square wave were used. This was the same thing that was done for the boss music in Mega Man ZX Advent's Mega Man a, and I thought that song could've been better, as well.
The stadium song(I call the boss Base Man for now, until we get an official name) had a good start, but then got a bit basic and typical right after. And then near the end of the song, I was thinking it sounded like a tune from Gekitou!! Stadium(A.K.A. Bad News Baseball)... and this was before I even heard the crowd cheering part!
The stage song(I'm assuming it's for the Blade/Sword Boss Master) sounds like it belongs in Mario Tennis GB, nothing like a Mega Man song, in my opinion.
The thing is, the music isn't bad. It's just not really keeping the Mega Man tradition as much as 9 did. I'm wondering if anyone would like to do a project in recreating the soundtrack, similar to what was already mentioned. Sorry for the wall of text, Triflake!

I don't mind at all about the wall of text, haha. I'm actually pretty interested in the conversation that has sparked in this thread. Learned a lot as well.
