Well, with the release of an official OST from the upcoming Megaman 10, I knew it had to be covered, so I spent about four hours hammering it out. Let me know any spots that might need improvement, thanks.
Cool man. Well I think I'll wait until the game / soundtrack is released before I do anything with it. Because then I can turn on my analytical thinking cap. The trailer's quality is too low for my liking.
We should probably point our finger at Capcom USA for stealing MegaPhilX's tile sheet for their use on Megaman 10's American website.
Capcom has always been very open about using their fan's works, but stealing their works is against the law. While he's using their sprites in a non-profit fan game, they're making money off of his work without his permission. This is a blatant violation of copyright law.
Sounds good to me. Although, you could clean it up by modifying your instruments. For example instead of using a zero in the square channels before each note adjust the volume settings so they slide down, ie. 15 14 13 12 11 10. The zero in front works for the bass, but does not make the SQ notes blend. Also, using volume slides between longer notes makes them smoother. I have just recently begun to do this and it makes the music sound that much more accurate. As far as the overall song goes great job, it sounds like all of the notes are accurate. The tempo I think if off but that's an easy fix, i know you did this in a hurry. I'll attach an mp3 rip from the trailer. I don't know if it will help but I tried running some basic sound filters to clean it up. Nice job again.
First of all, I've noticed from the demos that the sound effects are not cutting out the channels of the music.. I wonder why Capcom's not doing that this time? Or maybe they just guessed most people wouldn't care.
Anyway, another thing I've noticed is some of the music sounds like it's actually being played from a 2A03, like "strike man"'s theme, and the shop..etc. The differences between those two songs and the "unknown" ones are subtle but there (like the samples in the unknown ones have half a frame of silence before the note plays giving it a bit of an attack) whereas Strike Man's theme doesn't have that. Of course we'll never know until the sounds / streams are ripped from the game in a month and a half or so.
Speaking of which, I'm about to release something which some people might find interesting. I just want to make a somewhat of a demo with it.
Capcom USA stole tile sheets from MegaPhilX's Megaman fangame, no doubt because they thought his "Megaman 10" was the real Megaman 10. They probably hired some web designer to do something on it 8-bity, the designer probably searched Google Images and then used whatever he/she could find.
I just went on youtube and listened to a lot of the soundtrack. This song is the stage music for Nitro man. This level and Wily stage 3 were the only ones that interested me for the most part. The MM10 soundtrack is very bland to me, kinda like listening to MM6, just not anything really catchy so far other than the songs I just mentioned IMO.
