It would be oh so nice to be able to use faster hardware-acceptable refresh rates without hex-editing the FTM; considering engine overhead. If not a full uncap, a new max of 960Hz would be fun; and likely function perfectly fine in most cases on hardware -- especially with other lighter export engine plugins. In addition for greater ease, a text input field would also help.
I've planned to change that to allow setting the NSF speed parameters directly instead of that Hz slider, that would allow higher speeds as well as more resolution.
The current limitation (400 Hz) is what I've measured to work fine in most cases with only the 2a03 channels enabled, once more channels are added then that's not valid anymore. Using a custom driver would allow even higher rates, that's a possibility.
I've gotten NSFs to play accurately at WAY beyond 400Hz on hardware with the right precautions in mind; but, yes, add expansions and it's much more difficult to maintain stability.
