So, i've recently been interested in the Lavender Town song, and went on here to see if there were any good covers, I found stolen work, and some really good pieces. I didn't see any covers of the Leaf Green version although, (My favorite Version). So, I decided to quickly learn some basics of Famitracker and make my first cover! I am looking for heavy criticism, to see what I can do to improve and possible do many more in the future. Thanks a lot!
First of all, the gameboy did not have the same audio capabilities as the NES. As I remember, the Gameboy had no triangle or dpcm channel, but it had a wavetable synthesis channel. If you want to simulate Gameboy music on FT, you should use the FDS or N163 expansion sound, and disable the triangle and dpcm channels.
I think the melody was pretty accurate, except for the super high-pitch part (most people have trouble covering that part, as I have seen).
I saw that you were trying to use varying volumes on the triangle channel. The triangle channel can only be at full volume or silent, so any volume value other than 0 causes it to be at full volume.
The noise drums were okay, but I don't think they were necessary, especially since the original song didn't use drums. Also, you should try to go beyond just a simple bass-snare combination.

I wasn't trying to emulate the gameboy one, but rather the GBA remake of Red and Blue. In that version, the lavender town theme had drums and cool noises after the first high pitched part.
Thanks for telling me about the triangle channel, I was confused on that.
