So I'd been thinking for a while that this song would sound good in 8-bit, and the results didn't disappoint for sure.
Any opinions, complaints and criticisms are appreciated as usual, and please tell me what you think about the triangle and the solo at the end.
It's gotten to the point where hearing this song on the radio makes me anything but happy. But this cover is pretty good. Nice job.

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to [url=http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3633]request a hardware render.
I've thought about trying this too, but I couldn't have done it better than that.
When I first heard this one the chords reminded me of the music in some of the 90s shmups and things that I like. I made a little demo of it in a different tracker using some 16-bit instruments. It's nothing special and it's not famitracker, but I thought it might be a neat addition to the discussion since I had it lying around anyway.

I can see where you're coming from for sure, I don't listen to pop or top 25 radio very often on my own, so I haven't heard as much as everyone else probably has. I never actually sat down and listened to the whole thing until I decided to make this.

I don't care how annoying this song gets, this cover is just great. It maintains that feeling of happiness throughout, without ever getting annoying.
And that Triangle thing at the end is really great. Just saying that because it looked like it took a bit of effort, and nobody had said a word about it for some reason. It was a nice touch.
Overall, it's iPod worthy.

not to clog the thread or anything, but i have a 2a03 version of happy that i made a long time ago. there are certain things i can make better now, but i guess ill just let it be.
My friend and I are making a game app and we love the 8bit version of happy you did. We were wondering if we can have your permission to use it in our game.
Let me know.
