Hi, I'm new to FamiTracker and I've been having trouble with the AXX fadeouts for certain notes, the problem being that after the first note fades out the other notes in the sequence do not play. If anyone could help me that'd be nice, maybe provide an ftm file as well. I did read through other threads but I still didn't quite get it.
Also ,if you want to cancel the fade-out effect, just enter A00.

You have to specify an expansion chip in your Module Properties. Now, probably the easiest expansion chip to learn is the Nintendo MMC5, which adds an extra two Pulse channels.
(One significant difference between the MMC5 and other expansion chips is that MMC5 shares instruments with the core channels. For most other expansion chips like VRC6 and N163 you must define separate sets of instruments between the core and expanded channels, even if they're effectively duplicating each other's definitions.)

It's also worth noting that chips with expansion audio were available only in Japan. Everyone outside Japan grew up on games that didn't use them. For that reason I dislike them because they aren't authentic NES music.

The Axx does not reset every note. Think about it like this:
There is a value on each channel called 'volume'. The value changes when you place a value in the channel - like F, 8 or 0. Playing a new note does not change the value in this channel - a note can have a volume envelope of its own, but the final volume of the channel is the multiplication of both of them together (F*F = F, F*8 or 8*F = 8, 8*8 = 4, ...)
When an Axx is active, the value in this channel is adjusted down (or up) every number of ticks. As I said before, placing a new note does not update the value in 'volume' at all - so when the Axx brings 'volume' down to 0, all new notes played will be silent.
You probably want to do one of the two following:
1) Use Axx and, for each new note, set the volume it should start at it in the volume column.
2) Instead of using Axx, put a volume envelope on the instrument used in that channel itself. Volume envelopes restart whenever you start a new note.

I hear ya. People can do some really impressive things with e.g. VRC6 tunes, but if I can't recognize the underlying square/pulse waves making up the song, it just "doesn't sound 8-bit" enough.
