Yeah, this definitely doesn't sound like a boss theme, unless it's a turn-based strategy game, or something similar. It could be a final stage, as mentioned, but not boss, really. It sounds really good, though.

I think your [url=http://famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=6092]other boss battle tune is more fitting for a boss battle. This one in general is quieter and not as claustrophobic.

Both are pretty cool.
