I've worked with FT for about a year now and I've still got a long way to go. It takes time to master everything. Years... Patience is key.

I would check out guides and tutorials on "tracking modules", they should provide you the information you need to make music in any tracking style software.

However, FamiTracker provides things that other trackers may not have (like multi-channel order lists. Most other trackers only have one order list)

Google will serve you well. You'll find guides, and even YouTube should have instructional videos, too.

Really? My very first FTMs were pretty good, I think. Of course, it helped that I was already very familiar with tracking programs, so if you're learning from square one, I could imagine it taking that long...

On the whole, though, I think FamiTracker isn't hard to learn or use. The tricky part is getting the musical sense you need, which doesn't have much to do with the particular program you're using.

FT was my very first tracker... ever... so it was hard to begin with. I also didn't use any tutorials to learn. I had to guess and test my way forward. I think that's the best way to learn, to experiment. It takes longer but in my opinion gives you a stronger understanding over time.
