Got the beat from the second part of this song stuck in my head at school today. So I covered it. It's the Super Mario Galaxy file select song. Didn't turn out as good as I'd hope, but I hope you like it.

Also another "guess this song".

Nice covers you got there.

My guess for that "Guess the song" is Popcorn, nicely covered, too!

Never said I didn't like the MM4 OST.
To prove it, here's Bright Man's theme in the style of Ninja Gaiden (1). I kinda like how it turned out.

It's really amazing how you can just juggle around with every imaginable style around every NES melody on earth ... you're truly an amazing chiptune musician!

My recent tests prove your first statement in that NES melodies somehow work in every style.

this isn't even an NES thing but ech

neither does it copy the style well

Your compositions are really good! Keep it up!

You're not truly amazing until you can redo the first level of Contra and make it sound ordered.

Seriously, neat cover =)

Because the MM4 soundtrack is the black sheep of the Classic MM soundtracks (MM7, MM8 and to some extent MM&B are more interesting).
The GB versions are a lot better, except Dust Man but that's because the composition sucks. The only good thing about Dust Man is the tremolo in the intro, the rest feels really out of place.

Btw, even though I personally don't like Bright Man very much, the cover was pretty nice. Getting a little sick of the Cossack 2 praise, even though it's a good song in general. At least you're not doing another MM2 Wily1-2 cover, so you get some respect from me just for that.

I'll never lose my love for 5, though.
This is my first finished cover with the VRC7. No pulse here!
If you're not playing this in UberTracker, I'd reccomend turning the APU2 up to roughly +5.0 db in version 0.4.3 or 0.4.4.
Also, feel free to use the custom trumpet and electric guitar patches, just make sure you give credit.

Wow, REALLY good rendition. I actually quite like the MM5 final boss theme ... although I really DESPISE Starman's theme ...

Anyways, audio balance is as important as it was never before with the VRC7 since, because of it's unique architechture, it actually softens the NES input and is highly endangered of producing clipping (even more on the original hardware).
I've learned it the hard way, but you've really gotta watch out for your volume balance with this chip.

Here's a slightly more balanced version ^_^

Oh, abd about MM4 being the "Black Sheep": I think every MM soundtrack has it's ups and downs, but I personally don't think any track from MM4 is really obnixious. And I just oh-so-overly love the normal and the final boss theme ^^ (first final-boss-exclusive final boss theme in the MM franchise).
And oh yeah. Skull Man. If you don't like this theme, you're simply not a human being. ^^D

... and shall we REALLY talk about Pharaoh Man ... ?!

Great cover, but I wish you had used the pulse tracks for echoes or background effects or something. I'm always most impressed by VRC7 tracks that use the pulse tracks to thicken the mix without being obtrusive, which is easier than you might think.
