I make a lot of covers. Like, A LOT.
So here's where I'm going to dump them.
First, a Gravity Man cover done in the style of the Follin Brothers, Tim and Geoff.

NOTE: This FTM uses fixed arps. If you have version 0.4.3 or earlier, please get the NSF file instead. The only version of FamiTracker where this sounds correct is 0.4.4 beta (doesn't sound right in 0.4.3, won't work in 0.4.2 and earlier).

The Eurostyle ... I CAN TASTE IT!! °A°

Seriously, good cover. I just think the sweeps on Pulse 1 in Frame 14 [E] and beyond aren't working all that great. But to be fair ... the MM5 soundtrack is the only one I've never listened to ... (aside from some Gameboy tunes). I really should play that game ... it's on my WiiU virtual console for two weeks and I've only played Charge Man's stage so far. Which is a really damn stupid robot master :-/

Back on topic, congrats to your Cover-thread. But I personally prefer it having a single threat for each cover.
I wish you success with this cover thread

Those sweeps are pretty strange.
Maybe this is better? They were in octaves, this might be a little less odd.
Oh yeah, and you should give the MM5 OST a listen. It's my personal favorite, tied with 3 (yes, even above 2).

Defenetely less jarring. Interesting instrumentation alltogether!

But one question remains ... Y NO LOVE FOR 4? ;__;
No one seems to like MM4 the best ...

It's got a kickass title theme, Pharaoh Man( NEED I SAY MORE?!), the magnificent russian-sounding Cossack Citadel Stages (Dr. Cossack himself is pretty underrated, too!) and - as the first in the series - a "Final Wily Capsule"-theme. I personally just whole-heartly enjoy Megaman 4 ^.^
Also ... I think MM4 has the most diverse noise-drums.

But yeah, I can see why everyone likes 2 & 3, especially 3 is a surprising jump up in instrument quality from MM2 - whereas MM2 has some of the best compositions (*cough*WILYCASTLE*cough*)

And also ... has everyone forgotten MM1?
I think I'll be stuck with the Yellow Devil theme in my nightmares.

And on this day, I realised I am the only person who despises that track. I think the song is rather uncreative, that Flash in the Dark (which is a rather clear clone of it) actually does a better job that the original at creating a tense atmosphere, and that it is wayyyyy too over-rated. Even if I did like the theme, I couldn't put up with it after all of the internet remixes ughh

But, regardless of my opinion, it's rather clear that it did something right.

The Gravity Man composition is amazing! The first and third chords in the intro (which I'm pretty sure are the same chords) feel mildly off when comparing to the original, but apart from that small nitpick it all feels like it keeps the original's theme while creating a new atmosphere all together.

No doubt, the "Megaman 2 Wily 1" remixes are ANNOYING AS FUCK, especially when searching for a good remix of another wily castle. I once tried finding some Megaman 1 Wily Castle remixes and was DROWNED in badly arranged MIDIs seemingly made by five year olds labeled "EPIC MEGAMAN 2 WILY REMIX !!11!!!1!eoneeleven". Ugh -.-"

But I personally hate all of this "Mainstream" or "Anti-Mainstream"- nonsense. I like something? I take it. I don't? I leave it. I personally don't give two shits about what the rest of society (or hipsters since they aren't part of any society ^^) think about somethink I take a look at. "Overrated" and "Underrated" don't determine wether I like something or not.

And by the way, I also prefer Flash in the Dark ^.^
That's just one magnificent tune Dr.Wily has set up for his fortress.

Is it a bad time to post this then? *runs*

Seriously though, nice cover LL ^.^

EDIT: Works fine in 0.4.2 for me, don't know where you're getting the not working part from 0.o

Wow, you don't have to run, this remix is SO much better than the original! That's all I really care about.

Also, the reason I mentioned it probably not working on 0.4.2 is because in NSF import, whenever I'd try to open an FTM from a newer version, it wouldn't work. :P That is an earlier version though...

Whatever, as long as it works.

LOL, NSFImport runs on 0.3.7, of course it doesn't work silly =3

Anything under 0.3.5 uses one format, 0.3.5-0.3.8 share one format, 0.4.0-0.4.1 use the 0.3.5 format with a single header change, and 0.4.2 onwards uses the same format.
