I decided to start using Famitracker this week and I want to use this thread so I have somewhere to log my progress. I'm new to composing in general so it'd be cool to get some critique so I can improve!

Here's a loop I created to kick off this thread:

You seem to be very good at composing stuff. But, I think you should work on the percussion more. It feels incomplete at frames 04-06. Check out my edit.

I think it sounds better without percussion actually, but it sounds nice both ways.

GEEZ, I can't beleive it's taken me this long to get back here I made a few other tracks after this one, and then got frustrated when they sounded bad, and I gave up and did other things for a while. Sometimes, I find it difficult to come up with things I feel comfortable showing to other people
Anyway, thanks for the comments and stuff and I learned a bit from that edit you made, MMK so thanks for that too!

I'll try to post more frequently when I need help on things, kinda feel bad for leaving yall hanging.

Anyway here's something I just randomly came up with. I'm just calling it Audiodemo2, because i'm just that great at coming up with names =)

I strongly advise using the Pxx effect for two channel echoes and choruses, it makes them sound so much better. It should also be used when two channels clash on the same note. (Even if they are an octave apart.)

I made a fix which you can get below. Here are the changes I made:
[li]Added Pxx effects[/li][li]Added a small amount of vibrato to the Pulse 2 instrument[/li][li]Added an echo lead to the Pulse 2 lead at frames 02-03[/li][li]Changed one note[/li]

Thanks for that tip! This one's a tad rushed because I just wanted to try the pitch thing very breifly and also make basic drums. One thing I have trouble with a lot when I try to make music in general tends to be me trying to come up with a melody and also the progression of a song from the intro to the main body of the song. So I just have to make a mental note to maybe study this more in the future.
